FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
I have so many new followers that I wanted to take a minute to answer some of the most frequently asked questions. I hope this answers some of those questions and thank you so much for your interest and support!!

Q. Do you sew for other people?
A. Kind of, this is a yes/no sort of answer. I dont sew for hire, meaning I don't take orders from people for items shown on my blog or custom work. BUT I do have a "Made To Order" business with my partner and we add items I have worn or designed for purchase. These are small production runs so they sell out quickly and are all limited quantities. You can follow Stitched9 to stay up to date on new items added or visit that site directlyhttp://www.stitched9.bigcartel.com/

Q. I want to start sewing but don't know where to begin.A. Go to the blog and read under the "Wanna Sew" tab. I give recommendations on starter machines, tutorials, books, etc. I also have a "Free Sewing Class" on my blog and many freebies on my youtube channel to get you started (links below)

Q. Are you a stylist?
A. Yes I work in Los Angeles as a stylist to private clients and also with clients out of state.

Q. Do you make stuff for men?A. In 2014 I plan to add styling ideas for men as well as sewing tutorials for mens apparel.

Q. Do you make children's clothing?A. No I don't do kids clothing...at the moment anyway.

Q. What is your site about? What does DIY mean?
A. My main focus is and always has been to share my knowledge of sewing with the world! I teach via my blog and inspire people to pick up a new hobby even if just for fun or to make a quick item or two. Sewing is fun and should not be a dunning task so I specialize in making ALL my tutorial beginner friendly, easy to understand and most important fun and rewarding. I also offer OOTD' (outfit of the day) and fashion/style tips via the blog. DIY means "Do It Yourself"

Hello Mimi. I'm trying to find something that my wife saw on your Instagram page. How can I see if you still have it available?

  4. Mimi: I love your site and I have spent a lot of time on it over the past several days. First of all, thank you. I'm having difficulty with fabric selection. I'm going to make the Sewing 101, Lesson No. 4 skirt. I either already have or purchased the items listed on the supply list. In keeping with your recommendation to avoid stretchy fabric for this skirt -- the terminology for the online websites of the fabric choices are overwhelming me. Mind you, I don't want to do a 100% cotton skirt. I'm a quilter and I have a healthy supply of cotton fabric. Can my chosen fabric (poly crepe, rayon challis, poplin, pique or non-stretchy matte jersey have some stretch to it? Thank you in advance for your time and answer. --Robyn

  5. Hi Mimi, I LOVE YOUR STYLE!!!! I know how to sew already, so my question is what kind of Bernina is that, that you use? You make me want to start back to sewing again. But I have to buy a machine, first. Thank you in advance.
